Day registration for Enid’s walk

Online entries have been closed, but those who checked out the weather first are still welcome to enter on the day for this year’s Enid Pretorius Properties Trail Walk & Run tomorrow between 07:00 and 08:45.  The walk (but you may run) will start at 09:00.  Celebrate National Women’s Day with your friends in nature, discovering the beauty of our hometown with family or some special friends.

The event starts at the Village Centre.  From the Granny’s Pool you will follow the Two Harbour Walk to Port St Francis, where the first water point and check station is.  Then you proceed to Shark Point and the Cape St Francis Lighthouse via the main beach where the second water point and check station is.  This is also the finish for those who only want to do the 12km distance and the start of the 14km distance at 10:30.

From the lighthouse the route follows jeep tracks and footpaths to Mosterts Hoek, where the third water point and check station will be.  Towards The Dunes you will find the only uphill on the route to get to the St Francis Links, where the last water point and check station is before you proceed back to the Village Centre via the St Francis Golf Course.

It is 26km of pure bliss, enjoying the beauty of St Francis at your own pace, preferably with family or friends. This is not a race, just an opportunity to enjoy nature – however, trail runners are welcome!  If you are walking fit, you will enjoy it!

The entry fee is R60 per adult and R40 for learners (under 17).  The first 100 online entries will receive custom made drawstring backpacks.  For the rest there will be great lucky draw prizes up for grabs!  The entries are limited due to the sensitivity of the area so don’t delay with your entry.

The route will be well marked and marshaled.  Please carry a water bottle or camel back which you can refill at the water points, where limited energy snacks will also be available.

The prize giving will start at 15:00 at Enid’s offices, giving all participants enough time to get to the finish line.  All finishers will receive a special handmade medal from Enid Pretorius and the first three positions of the event St Francis Sport medals.  The beneficiary of the event is St Francis Community Home Care.
